SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Review

Does your skin get noticeably more irritated when you’re wearing face makeup? Maybe it’s a bit of the removal or cleansing process for me but I can feel my face being more sensitive on the nights after double cleansing.

If you’ve also been looking for more of a soothing serum/ampoule, or even something to use in between acid treatments - the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule is a gem. Keep on reading for the full review!

Spoiler alert: This has made it to my all-time favorites list for skincare and makeup (linked here)!skin1004 madagascar centella ampoule review*This is a sponsored post (but this product is actually my second bottle already and I truly love and recommend it)! I usually purchase from StyleVana (about 2 weeks shipping to Canada).

About the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule

The brand notes that this is a soothing ampoule that helps calm and restore imbalance in the skin caused by harsh environments.

Now I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to skincare ingredients so here’s some more info about Centella Asiatica from the National Library of Medicine. “Apart from wound healing, the herb is recommended for the treatment of various skin conditions such as leprosy, lupus, varicose ulcers, eczema, psoriasis”. It’s been used for a very long time in the east, “traditionally for wound healing and the research has been increasingly supportive for these claims”.

I think for those who try this - you’ll literally be able to feel how soothing it feels on the skin if your skin’s feeling a little sensitive or right after double cleansing. I usually don’t use a toner after cleansing because even that will irritate my cheeks - just this and then a nighttime moisturizer!

How to use the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule

I usually will use this in the evenings after cleansing. I will pat in extra layers (sometimes multiple pipette-fulls) if my skin is feeling more sensitive. I will almost always use at least 1 full pipette haha.

During the day if you don’t want a super dewy look you can probably get away with a few drops since this spreads so easily.

The finish: It’s super hydrating, has a great slip to it, leaves the skin with a dewy finish. Slightly slightly tacky but not sticky.

For best results, try this over the span of 1-2 weeks. I’ve noticed less random splotches of redness and just generally more glowy comfortable skin.

Is it good for acne-prone skin?

Yes. I usually will use a BHA on and off to treat my closed comedones and to prevent acne. This ampoule is great for soothing the skin and for hydrating! It’s perfect for my combo skin and dry skin types will love it too.

Summing up this SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule review

If you’re new to k-beauty this is probably the first product I’d recommend you try. It beautifully encapsulates what I think korean skincare tries to do: soothe, moisturize and repair the skin barrier. This ampoule is perfect to incorporate into your existing routine in place of your serum - I will also be repurchasing from StyleVana when this bottle is done!
