My Updated Skincare Routine + SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Review

Hello, Hello! Today, I’m going to share my updated skincare routine. So if you’re looking for my new favorite products, you’ve come to the right place! 

I have oily and sensitive skin. I’m having a breakout whenever I wear make-up for the whole day. So I’m cautious in choosing the right make-up and skin care products I use. I’m afraid some ingredients will make my skin more oily and prone to acne. So when I’m trying a new skincare routine, I look for products that are as light as possible and hydrate my skin rather than moisturize it.

Recently, I’ve been obsessed with Skin1004’s Madagascar Centella Skincare line. You probably saw this on some of my Instagram stories. Centella has many topical skin-saving benefits, which is why it has become so popular in the beauty community, especially if you’re into K-beauty like me. In addition, it is well known for its antioxidant properties and ability to hydrate and nourish the skin. I used most of the items in this collection consistently, and after just a few weeks, I started noticing a difference in my skin! 

Cleanser 

Cleansing the skin is the most critical step of any skincare routine. It removes oil, dirt, and other unwanted debris from our skin. To cleanse my face, I’m using the Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil and Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam Cleanser.

Madagascar Centella Light Cleansing Oil

This cleansing oil contains Madagascar Centella Asiatica as the main ingredient and six plant-based oils. I’m using it during my nighttime skincare routine to remove make-up. I love how mild this cleansing oil is! It melts away surface impurities and make-up and cleanses my skin with a lightweight formula, leaving my skin purified and refreshed.

To use it, just pump the appropriate amount on dry hands. Next, emulsify with water and gently massage your face until make-up is dissolved. Massage until milky and rinse with lukewarm water.

Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam 

I’m using the Madagascar Centella Ampuole foam every morning as the first step in my routine. Then, during the night, I use it after using the Centella Madagasgac light cleansing oil. 

This Ampoule foam has a clay mask-type texture and becomes super foamy when rubbing with water. Once I applied it to my face, I could instantly tell this was a winner. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling “squeaky clean,” which is terrible for the skin as it will produce more oil and might cause acne. This isn’t necessarily an exceptionally hydrating cleanser, but it does soothe the skin. It’s ideal for you if you have oily or acne-prone skin and you want to thoroughly wash your skin without stripping it of its natural oils. You just need a pea-size because a little goes a long way with this foam cleanser.

Madagascar Centella Ampuole foam helps maintain healthy skin pH balance and skin barrier with a gentle finish and no irritation. It thoroughly removes residues with fine soda powder smaller than skin pores.

Madagascar Centella Toner 

Once my skin is clean and free from any make-up, dirt, and oil, I follow with an exfoliating toner. I soak the cotton pad with toning toner, then gently wipe my face with the pad. I also pour a small amount of toner on my hand and spread it thoroughly on my face. It helps keep my skin moist, bright, and wrinkle-free. After using it, I noticed that it gives my skin a really gorgeous dewiness. I normally don’t see such significant changes in my skin from toners alone, but this one has made all the difference.

Madagascar Centella Toner is a non-irritating exfoliator that contains Centella Asiatica extract and PHA that help clean off dead skin cells for more hydrated and clean skin.

The PHA, noted for its compatibility with sensitive skin, softens and brightens dull skin by exfoliating dead skin cells. At the same time, the high concentration level of Centella Asiatica and Hyaluronic acid helps calm and hydrate the skin. It also has Niacinamide which helps reduce blemishes for light and healthy skincare.

This is suitable for all skin types, even damaged, sensitive, and acne-prone skin, because it only contains less than 1% of Niacinamide. It also only has 15 natural ingredients, so it’s a low-irritant toner.

Madagascar Centella Ampoule 

Madagascar Centella Ampoule is a healing ampoule that helps repair skin barriers and provides hydration to damaged skin. This is my favorite product from the Centella Madagascar skincare line because it is made of 100% Centella Asiatica extract. After toning, I apply the ampoule directly onto my face and massage. It quickly absorbs on the skin.

The texture of the ampoule is more watery than I expected, but it’s super soothing and hydrating. I find that it quickly absorbs and leaves my skin looking glowy and fresh. What’s good about this ampoule is that it’s light enough for daytime use and equally nourishing enough for overnight use.

Face Cream 

Applying facial cream is the last step of my skincare routine. I’ve tried sooo many creams, and only a few of them works for me. 

Madagascar Centella Cream 

This Madagascar Centella Cream might have one of the lightest creams I’ve tried. It has a lotion-like texture that is surprisingly hydrating. Even though it contains a shea butter content, it doesn’t feel overly sticky once it’s rubbed into the skin. It has a dewy and creamy texture, and no artificial fragrance is added.

This Centella Cream is good for hydrating all skin types because it is non-greasy. This cream repairs the outer skin surface and protects it from external irritants. It contains Niacinamide and Adenosine, which help brighten skin and provide wrinkle care, plus four active ingredients of Centella Asiatica. 

Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream 

The Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream is more of a skin barrier cream that is also hydrating. I used it as part of my nighttime skincare routine. Like the Madagascar Centella cream, the soothing cream is incredibly calming when applied to the skin. It has a brown gel-type consistency that is easily absorbed, leaving my face feeling nourished and hydrated. This is perfect for all skin types. It strengthens your inner skin barrier to help keep the skin’s natural moisture. In addition, it has a cooling effect which helps calm skin. 

Overall Thoughts

I’ve been using SKIN1004 Centella Madagascar for two weeks now, and I see an amazing result. My skin is no longer dull-looking, and it looks (and feels) like it’s healthier now. I don’t get breakouts now, even though I sometimes wear make-up for the whole day. Thanks to the light cleansing oil for removing make-up and the ampoule foam for cleansing my face. My skin has become glowy, and some of my minimal dark spots have disappeared. 

I love the philosophy of keeping the ingredients minimal but effective. Instead of adding unnecessary elements to solve skin problems, SKIN1004 focuses on simply soothing, hydrating, and repairing the skin.

Another thing that I like about this line is the packaging. It’s very minimalist. It comes with clear bottles so you can see what you are consuming. No unnecessary information is printed on the stickers, so it looks clean.
