About the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam

The brand notes that this is a rich, foaming cleanser with an ideal pH level of 5 effectively removes makeup and impurities without stripping the skin.

Something I only recently learned about on YouTube is the importance of pH for maintaining skin barrier integrity. Did you know it’s been demonstrated that skin with pH values below 5.0 are healthier, more hydrated, and have a stronger barrier function than those above 5.0? Source is here.

Anyway, when we use harsh cleansers, we are disrupting our “acid mantle” aka lovely skin protector with a natural pH of 4 to 7, and this can have adverse effects and lead to stuff like inflammation, atopic dermatitis, dehydrated skin (skin that is both dry and oily at the same time), dry skin, skin sensitivity, acne, malassezia folliculitis etc. Gentle, pH balanced cleansers are meant to maintain our skin barrier’s integrity. A cleanser that is “pH balanced” simply means it has a pH similar to that of skin (4.5-5.5).

I love how this one in particular also has 33% Centella Asiatica Extract - it’s the first ingredient in the cleanser which means it is likely the ingredient with the highest concentration (where as most other cleansers start off with water).

My experience using the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam

I will use this as my second cleanser in my double cleansing routine in the evenings. I love the foam on this and you can create the foam with just a teeny bit of product. It’s super satisfying (but where other foam cleansers can be stripping, this one is foamy but gentle).

This cleanser is not drying or harsh at all. I generally won’t use cleansers unless I’m feeling super greasy or have worn makeup that day - so even when I used a sample packet of this it lasted almost a week!

Some mornings if I’m not cleansing my whole face, I will foam up a little bit of this to use as an eyelash extensions cleanser. It’s super gentle and since there’s lots of foam I don’t need to rub or tug my eyes at all.

These days for summer, I’ll follow up with the SKIN1004 Centella Asiatica ampoule and then a sunscreen for daytime!

Summing up this SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam review

I already know this cleanser will probably last me until the end of the year (at least lol!) - I’ve really enjoyed the experience of this cleanser and recommend this is as an affordable pH-balanced cleanser for those who enjoy all the bubbles!

That’s all for today! Till next time :))!
